Sharjah
Sharjah is the third largest and most populous city, it is also a centre for culture and industry. This Emirate independently contributes approximately 7.4% of the GDP of the UAE. Unlike Abu Dhabi and Dubai, this city holds less famous attractions. One of its most popular attractions is the Sharjah Natural History Museum, where visitors can educate themselves about the history of Arabian wildlife. This experience in its self is astounding and a great reminder that although the UAE is now populated with ultra-modern architecture and skyscrapers, it once was merely a desert. Ras Al Khaimah
Ras Al Khaimah also abbreviated as RAK City and translated in English means "top of the tent." This Emirate is home to approximately 31% of the UAE's population. With high-end beach resorts, offering sublime landscapes, astonishing coastlines and rich terracotta desert planes. This Emirate is ideal for an escape from the city. Fujairah
This is the only of the seven Emirates with a coastline solely on the Gulf of Oman and none on the Arabian Gulf. Fujairah is a modern, industrial town and the main settlement of the east coast. Fujarah is separated from the rest of the UAE by the jagged line of the Hajar Mountains, and although the city itself is a grid pattern of high-rise office blocks with little to attractions to offer visitors, Fujairah Emirate's beaches to the north are some of the most beautiful in the UAE. This beautiful slice of coastline is ideal for scuba diving, sunbathing and snorkelling. The city is approximately an hour and a half drive away from Dubai, visitors can spend the day at Fujairah and head back to Dubai or take the opportunity to enjoy one of their various luxurious beach resorts.
Ajman and Umm Al-Quwain
Ajman and Umm Al-Quwain are much less sensational than the others, but these two Emirates still qualify as reasons to visit the UAE, with each offering unique experience. Ajman, the smallest of the seven Emirates has its share of beautiful white sand beaches, rolling desert dunes, craggy mountain backdrops, mangrove forests, as well as its history. The Ajman Museum was built by the historical Ajman Fort which provides a further insight into the history of the UAE.
